TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes) TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber, is categorized mainly into polyester type and polyether type. With a versatile hardness range (60HA-85HD), it boasts remarkable wear resistance, oil resistance, transparency, and elasticity. Widely utilized in daily necessities, sporting goods, toys, decorative materials, and other sectors, halogen-free flame retardant TPU is a sustainable alternative to soft PVC, adhering to stringent environmental standards. The elastomer, characterized by a vitrification temperature below room temperature and elongation at break >50%, offers excellent recovery post deformation. Polyurethane elastomers are unique within elastomeric categories, bridging the gap between rubber and plastic. These thermoplastic polyurethanes exhibit minimal or no crosslinking in their chemical structure, maintaining linear molecular chains with some physical crosslinking, thus falling under the TPU classification.

 

Thanks to its superior properties, TPU finds extensive applications. Its outstanding wear resistance makes it ideal for shoe soles, belts, and conveyor belts.
