TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes) TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber, is a versatile material mainly categorized into polyester and polyether types. With a broad hardness range (60HA-85HD), TPU offers superb wear and oil resistance, transparency, and elasticity. This makes it ideal for various applications including daily necessities, sporting goods, toys, and decorative materials. Moreover, halogen-free flame retardant TPU serves as an eco-friendly alternative to soft PVC, aligning with stringent environmental standards. The term 'elastomer' refers to materials with a glass transition temperature below room temperature, elongation at break >50%, and excellent recovery post-deformation. Polyurethane elastomers are notable for their extensive hardness and performance range, situating them between rubber and plastic. Featuring minimal or no chemical crosslinking, TPU's molecular structure is predominantly linear with some physical crosslinking.
