TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethanes) Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber, commonly known as TPU, is mainly categorized into polyester and polyether types. It boasts an extensive hardness range (60HA-85HD), excellent wear resistance, oil resistance, transparency, and superior elasticity. These features make TPU ideal for a plethora of applications including daily necessities, sporting goods, toys, decorative materials, and more. Notably, halogen-free flame-retardant TPU is an eco-friendly alternative to soft PVC. The term 'elastomer' describes materials with a glass transition temperature below room temperature, exhibiting an elongation at break of over 50%, and excellent recovery after deformation. Polyurethane elastomers fall under this category and have a broad hardness and performance range, bridging the gap between rubber and plastic. With minimal or no crosslinking in their chemical structure, TPU molecules are predominantly linear but exhibit some physical crosslinking, making them thermoplastically processable.
