TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes) TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber, is renowned for its versatile and robust properties. TPU is primarily divided into polyester and polyether types, offering a broad hardness range (60HA-85HD), exceptional wear resistance, oil resistance, transparency, and impressive elasticity. Consequently, TPU finds extensive applications in daily essentials, sporting goods, toys, decorative materials, and numerous other domains. Additionally, halogen-free flame retardant TPU serves as an eco-friendly alternative to soft PVC, addressing the evolving environmental standards across various sectors. An elastomer is characterized by a glass transition temperature lower than room temperature, elongation at break >50%, and excellent recovery post deformation. As a unique subset of elastomers, Polyurethane Elastomers exhibit a wide hardness and performance spectrum, positioning them between rubber and plastic. These thermoplastic materials feature minimal or no crosslinking in their chemical structure, maintaining a predominantly linear molecular form with some physical crosslinking. This variant of polyurethane is identified as TPU.
