TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes) TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber, is a versatile material mainly categorized into polyester and polyether types. It boasts a wide hardness range (60HA-85HD), superior wear resistance, oil resistance, transparency, and excellent elasticity. This makes it ideal for a plethora of applications including daily necessities, sports goods, toys, and decorative materials. Halogen-free flame retardant TPU can also serve as an eco-friendly alternative to soft PVC, aligning with the ever-evolving environmental standards. Elastomers, including TPU, have a glass transition temperature lower than room temperature, an elongation at break >50%, and remarkable recovery post-deformation. Polyurethane elastomers stand out in this category, offering a broad hardness and performance range, positioning them between rubber and plastic. Thermoplastic and with minimal cross-linking, TPU molecules are predominantly linear with some physical cross-linking.
