TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes) Name for Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber. It is primarily divided into polyester and polyether types, boasting a broad hardness range (60HA-85HD), exceptional wear resistance, oil resistance, transparency, and elasticity. TPU finds extensive application in everyday items, sporting goods, toys, decorative materials, and more. The halogen-free flame-retardant variant can substitute soft PVC to meet rising environmental standards. Elastomers are defined by their glass transition temperature being lower than room temperature, elongation at break >50%, and superior recovery post-deformation. Polyurethane elastomer, a unique subset of elastomers, covers a wide hardness and performance spectrum, situating it between rubber and plastic. Essentially linear, these thermoplastic polyurethanes exhibit minimal or no chemical crosslinking but feature some physical crosslinking. This category of polyurethane is termed TPU.
