TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes) TPU, or Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber, is classified into polyester and polyether types. With an extensive hardness range (60HA-85HD), it excels in wear resistance, oil resistance, and elasticity. Transparent and versatile, it finds applications in daily necessities, sporting goods, toys, and decorative materials. Halogen-free flame retardant TPU can replace soft PVC, adhering to stringent environmental standards. Elastomers, like TPU, possess a lower vitrification temperature than room temperature and an elongation at break >50%, reverting to their original shape post-deformation. Polyurethane elastomers, a specialized category, bridge the gap between rubber and plastics, offering a broad range of performance and hardness. Their thermoplastic nature, with minimal or no chemical crosslinking, results in primarily linear molecules, occasionally exhibiting some physical crosslinking.
