TPU (Thermoplastic polyurethanes) TPU stands for Thermoplastic Polyurethane Elastomer Rubber, an adaptable material primarily categorized into polyester and polyether types. Characterized by its extensive hardness range (60HA-85HD), exceptional wear and oil resistance, transparency, and superb elasticity, TPU is extensively utilized in daily necessities, sporting goods, toys, decorative materials, and various other sectors. Furthermore, halogen-free flame retardant TPU serves as an environmentally friendly alternative to soft PVC, aligning with the stringent ecological demands of numerous industries. Elastomers, known for their low vitrification temperature, exhibit over 50% elongation at break and remarkable recovery post-deformation. Polyurethane elastomers, falling within the elastomer category, boast an extensive hardness and performance range, positioning them between traditional rubber and plastic materials. These thermoplasticized polyurethanes, with minimal or no chemical crosslinking and primarily linear molecules, occasionally exhibit physical crosslinking, collectively termed TPU.
