Additionally, zinc oxide finds its niche in photography, electrostatic coatings for spacecraft, the production of fireworks and smoke bombs, and even cigarette filters.

(1) Rubber Industry: Within the realm of rubber vulcanization, particularly in lead-zinc mining equipment, zinc oxide plays a crucial role. It enhances the physical properties of vulcanized rubber, boosts the activity of accelerators, shortens vulcanization time, and significantly improves wear resistance and tensile strength. Besides serving as a reinforcing and coloring agent, zinc oxide is also employed as a vulcanizing agent for neoprene and a compounding agent to increase thermal conductivity.

(2) Paint and Coating Industry: Zinc oxide is prized for its superior tinting strength, hiding power, anti-corrosive properties, and luminescence. It is frequently used to produce white paint and enamel. Being slightly alkaline, it reacts with trace free fatty acids to form zinc soap, which enhances the flexibility and durability of the paint film, while also preventing metal oxidation.
